Sensei Sherwood is a direct student of Master Jack Redmond of Derry, NH, studying Shaolin Kempo and Yang style Tai Chi since 1997. Fifth Degree Black Belt awarded by Tom Callos for The Ultimate Black Belt Test, Team 3 Fourth Degree Black Belt, Shoalin Kempo Karate Second Degree Black Belt, Kindai Kumiuchi Ryu JiuJitsu Second Degree Black Belt, Kokon Ryu Kempo First Degree Black Belt, Cane Masters International Association ACMA Certified Instructor Certified F.A.S.T. Defense Instructor New Hampshire State Representative for the Kokon Ryu Bujutsu Renmei International Member International Society of Head Founders

Owner and head instructor at MLK Self Defense Academy, Sensei Joe Sherwood has been involved with martial arts since 1984 training in various styles. He has been studying JiuJitsu since 1990 adding Brazilian JiuJitsu with Brian Johnson from Seattle, WA since 2004.
